Adjust Expectations

When something is immovable, unchangeable, expecting a different outcome tomorrow will only frustrate you. If you expect your kids to sleep in past 7am, even though that has never been the case, you will be upset every morning you think: today is the day I can sleep in.

In the workplace, if you have asked for something 3 days in advance only to consistently receive it 2 days in advance, your expectations will drive you mad. That being said, things are worth challenging. Don't sacrifice your health and well-being trying to accommodate everyone, but choose your battles wisely.

When a certain thing remains unchanged, despite your efforts, it's time to adjust. Do you have to go to bed earlier, move your Wednesday tasks to Tuesday, or something else? If a precedent is not being followed, and it's not in your power to enforce it, change your expectation.
