Be Driven By The Clock, Not Run By It

Time is a vicious taskmaster. What seems like more than enough time will quickly turn into, due tomorrow. Even the most prepared and diligent workers can be caught off guard, as days and hours seemingly disappear without warning.

It's important that the clock drives our motivation. A sense of urgency needs to be in place in order for projects to be done on time. But we must also be careful not to make hasty decisions because the clock "forces us."

Some tasks are too important to have a time scale. Don't remain idle, but don't make a snap decision because "time has run out." Even the hardest deadline needs to adjust when the ramifications of a task can span months or years.
