We can be quick to write people off. A break of trust, a business deal gone bad; in most of those situations we are quick to throw the torch over our shoulder thinking we'll never return again.
The problem is, while time seems to fly by, a lifetime can be pretty long. Our paths may once again cross with people we have shut out years ago. We might even need to ask for help from a person we'd long forgotten.
No matter the scale or severity of an offense, don't be so hasty to enact a scorched-earth policy. You may not travel by the bridge for years, or ever again. But if a day comes when you want to venture across its steely surface one more time, it will still be there.
