When we look to others in authority or leadership positions, it's easy to diminish their responsibility. Their job can't be that hard, can it? Without facts or first-hand knowledge, our mental dialogue belittles their position and we think, I could easily do what they do.
But to see another person's handiwork is drastically different than doing it yourself. The many unseen moving parts, navigating employees and personalities, hitting deadlines; if you haven't walked a mile in their role, do not assume it's easy.
