Getting Out of a Funk
Not the uptown kind either. We all have those kinds of days that aren't terrible, but aren't that great either. We can so easily slip into that...funk.
Once we realize we're in it, our first reaction is to find the most fun, exciting or happy thing we can do to snap out of it. That may work, but if it doesn't we rarely have a Plan B. Maybe the best way out of a pity party isn't doing something for ourselves.
Next time you're not having a great day, try going out of your way to do something selfless for a stranger. Maybe it's anonymously buying their coffee, complimenting their attire, or buyng a gift card to give randomly. Strangely, helping someone else have a better day can many times help us too.
