Make The Ask

There’s a big difference between telling people about something, and asking them to do something. In retail sales you’re taught to always make the ask. No matter how interested a customer seems to be in a product, ask if they want to buy.

If you want to invite someone to an event or special occasion, ask them to come. Saying, “I’m doing this thing, hope you can make it,” is very different from “I want you to come.” It may seem pushy, but if you don’t ask, chances are people will assume it’s not important to you.
