On The Surface

Traveling across five continents and various countries, I've seen hotels of all qualities. Some appear luxurious and market themselves as "Five Star", while others are actually luxurious and have earned Five Stars.

The difference comes when a business keeps up their surface but lacks the attention to detail. The exterior is attractive and lobby looks nice, but the hallway wallpaper is peeling and grout is dirty. The details take manpower, time, and most of all, care.

Likewise, an organization can appear healthy on the surface, but how do the people "in the trenches" feel? How positive or negative are the hallway conversations of your employees? Go deep and care not just about the outward appearance of your organization, but its heart.
