On a road trip through Georgia with two kids we had to make a choice on what route to take. Either take a slightly faster, backwoods route with no traffic, or take the "shorter" highway route. Various GPS apps told us staying off the highway would save 20 minutes, so we did.
There was zero traffic, no roadwork, and it did save us some time. The only problem occurred when our three year old said he had to go to the bathroom. No rest stops or gas stations on the backwoods route...
Decisions are never one-dimensional. There are ramifications and ripple effects to every choice. As a leader you must take into account every possible angle and repercussion.
