Spinning Plates

Sometimes, being a director or leader over a department can feel like a spinning plate routine. Many pieces, all moving simultaneously as you try to keep everything in balance and running smoothly.

It takes a combination of being detail-oriented, multitasking, and follow-through to keep everything in check. When everything is spinning in time, it's easy to maintain. But when one plate begins to teeter off balance, your attention must focus on solving the problem.

Additional challenges may come and other plates begin to sway while you're still dealing with the first. Now it's a dance; a continued focus on the details, expending energy on the plates that are out of balance, and keeping the others in your peripheral view. How long the dance will last can't be known, but you will need stamina and discernment to keep them all going.
