The Necessary Evil of Self Promotion

I hate having to push the things I've made. We're all bombarded with commercials, ads, and promoted tweets constantly; why would I want to add to the noise? It feels arrogant or boastful at worst, and spammy at best. But, it's necessary.

When you are a creator, writer, musician, artist or designer that makes "stuff", no one will know about your creation unless you tell them. To post a blog or song in a vacuum without telling a soul is robbing yourself of attention and robbing others of the opportunity to enjoy what you've made.

It can be difficult at times and may go against your standards of not being too pushy, but you have to say something. Those who will truly enjoy what you've made deserve the chance to discover it.
