Tolerance is not the same as condoning. We scream and shout about how we must now tolerate yet another belief that contradicts our own, but we forget how many tolerate us without saying a word. Tolerance is not giving in or throwing away your convictions, it's learning not to double-take and stare every time a woman wearing a hijab passes by.

Can you sit in a coffee shop and have a civil conversation with someone of any religion? What about someone who holds to no religion? Many times they have a more respectable tolerance for you than you have for them. The phrase love wins may be attached to a movement right now, but it's also a true statement. In order to expect any kind of open dialogue, you must love, and tolerate, first.
