There are times you may feel compelled to do something in an unfamiliar field. Maybe you feel called to write, to speak, to take action; but you have no background. No education or prior experience. So what right do you have to try?
In our mind we see others doing the same thing we feel called to, and they do it much better. They have degrees and training in that area. They've been doing it for years! We think there's no need for us to even try when others are already doing it well. But, they are not you.
We're afraid others will expose our lack of training, lack of education, and proclaim we are frauds. Who will listen when you don't have a Ph.D behind your name? But the pieces of paper given by institutions do not justify or nullify your message.
You may not teach philosophy at an esteemed university, and maybe you don't have a Bachelor's degree, but your voice is still important. There may be someone in your life that can only be reached through your story.
"...for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." - Philippians 2:13 NKJV
