Threads Enables Fediverse Sharing (Beta) in the US

From Meta:

Beginning today, people ages 18 and up with public Threads profiles can turn on sharing to the fediverse as part of our beta experience. We’re testing this in a few countries to start, including the US.

The fediverse is an open, decentralized social media network that lets people connect and share information across independent servers built on the ActivityPub protocol.

To see if you have the option, tap your profile icon in the bottom right of the Treads app > double lines in the top right > Account > and it should appear under “Deactivate or delete profile.”

The option is currently greyed out for me, but this is an exciting step, meaning your posts from Threads and/or Mastodon can appear across the fediverse. Long-term, your interactions and replies will also appear everywhere.
